In July I ran a short series of classes in my online school called Collage with me.
From 10-12 each Tuesday morning a small group of us met online to collage to a theme.
We collaged with papers of All one colour…

…we collaged in layers made from Rubber stamps + tissue paper…

…we collaged cabinets of curiosity with Printables that I produced from freely available image libraries (especially the magnificent Rijksmuseum)…

…and for our final session, we made little one-page zines themed around Favourite things / things that give us dopamine.

If you’re reading this in your email you may not be able to see this, but right here on my site you can see a video of how this sweet little A4 page of collaged elements tucks and folds to become a tiny Dopamine menu.
I made another one using prints of shells that I shall show tomorrow… in fact we made many beautiful little zines together – everyone seemed to get immense pleasure from celebrating Favourite things / things that give you dopamine – as was the point of the theme.
It was so much fun that through August I’m offering another series of classes: Collage and zine with me. More collaging, but also more zines. Join me to make tiny collage books celebrating Collections, Love / loved-ones, and Funmaxxing and to make a User guide to any subject you choose. Here are the details – please ask any questions in the comments.
- It costs £20 to access all four classes but Collage and zine with me is free to Journal with me members (and fits beautifully with our Analogue August theme for next month if you were considering signing up).
- Recordings are available for six months from sign-up date, so you can watch the classes in your own time-zone if 10-12 BST on Tuesday mornings doesn’t work for you.
- You get a downloadable handbook with all the info you need, plus a weekly email lining up what we’re doing and letting you know what materials to bring.
- The format is ultra-relaxed. I demo what I’m doing and pin my video so nobody else is under pressure to speak or perform. I share all my makers tips and tricks and aim to foster a calm and encouraging creative classroom. You can follow what I’m doing, or do your own thing – nobody is marking or checking up on you! The prompts are just a guide so we have a starting point. At the end I host a 20 minute conversation where you can optionally share what you’ve made. Sharers can share and lurkers can lurk – all learning styles are welcome in my online school.
- All recordings, handouts and galleries of work are neatly organised in Teachable where you’ll be able to access them for six months from sign-up date.
- I’ve been told these classes feel like the closest we can get online to hanging out and crafting together.
- It’s OK with me if you want to watch these classes with a loved-one; I won’t charge you twice for sharing the joy of Collage and zine with me with someone you love. Bring them along and make stuff round your laptop / tablet / phone, propped up on the kitchen table.
If this sounds like something you need, get it here on Teachable or via the button below. Sign-ups close 4th August 2026.
See you there?
Yours in happy little bits of paper, Fx
