To my friends in the US…

My heart goes out to all my friends in the US whose hearts are broken by the election outcome.

I hope you can do whatever you need to do today to take best care of yourself; get breaks from the news and social media; check in on your friends; eat good food; get into the daylight; find your creative centre. We need our best thinking, imagination and our hope now more than ever. Please find ways to nurture and protect those precious things in you –

In solidarity,
Felix x

PS if you need some SONIK balm, I’m reprising this mix I made in 2017 because we need these songs again and always.

  1. Thank you Felix, I loved your music and rubber stamp message of support. Thanks for reaching out across the water to this crazy country of ours. We will persevere.

  2. I took yesterday off from any”news” but returned today. I felt alone and worried. My peers and fellow voters were bereft. Then I found your Note that friend forwarded to me. Tears came into my eyes and I suddenly felt like I can go on believing in what I have long believed in and the masses will not come to fetch me for an institution for “Reality Reversal”

  3. Thank you Felix. It’s only tonight, November 7, that I’ve looked at your email — having spent yesterday in bed b/c of exhaustion working the polls in my home town on election day from 6a – 9:45p.
We’re still reeling of course, but I can report, with just 2 exceptions, that the almost 1000 persons who came into our polling place were civil, respectful, grateful, and patient. So, there’s that. Your stamp flag is everything.

    1. Thank you for this. Your work and your wonderful personality have held me up in other difficult times.
The first round was a surprise (for me), this time the defeat feels so much worse. It will take longer to decide what to do.
      In solidarity, xo slt

  4. Thank you Felix for your genuine caring and kind words of encouragement to those of us left stunned by the U.S. election results.

  5. Thank you, Felix. Not surprised but shocked if that makes sense. Broken-hearted to see my country go down this path.

  6. Thank you so much Felix. It’s horrifying to realize all of those people voted for him. It was a complete shock to me.

  7. Thanks. It is a hard pill to swallow, but we have shown our true selves more than ever. My hope is that we find the energy to resist what may be coming and that we can change minds along the way.

  8. Thanks so much! I am avoiding TV and radio news. They are unhelpful. So I am listening to a new album by Shaboozey – a Black country and western artist- and I am loving it. A Brazilian friend who lives in California sent me an amazing article from the Guardian by Moira Donegan -Today Is a Day of Despair for America. So much better than anything I have read from US media. It was published yesterday. I joined over 200,000 other people who canceled their subscriptions to the Washington Post when they refused to make an endorsement for President about 10 days before the election. It was soon revealed that Bezos, owner of the paper, put the kibosh on it.
So listen to some music of your choice. Or watch a film or YouTube or stream something fun.
