24. Project Update

This last phase of the #KNITSONIKbacktoschool challenge is full of opportunities to reflect on how far we’ve come… for Project Update I wanted to just focus on one project that I’ve been working on through this challenge: The Artist’s Way and hacking the programme to make it more Felix-friendly.

Here is a montage of closeups of THE JOY that is my Morning Posters.

I love thumbing back through the sensory pleasure of all the colours and mark-making. It’s been delightful to make these each morning and means the first part of my day is flooded with colour and a chance to rid myself of dreams, worries, residual sleep/night-time stuff before the day fully begins.

It’s a way to just load up on chromatic delight and get stuff on the page in ways that feel good. It’s amazing how many powerful images, talismans, dreams, ideas and strong themes have emerged from doing this project and I’m looking forward to continuing it well into the winter.

About the music for this video: it’s by Monplaisir / Loyalty Freak Music / Rrrrrose Azerty
THEY ARE MY FAVOURITE BANDCAMP ARTIST ❤️

I interviewed them here on the KNITSONIK blog a while back, and all the music in the KNITSONIK Bullet Journaling Course was made by them. I absolutely love the spirit of freedom, openness and experimentation in their work and this piece – Stage 1, Level 24 from The Heat of The Summer – musically embodies a sense of movement and progress for me in a way no other piece of music does. I feel it in my whole self.

From your learning goals this autumn, have you made progress on a project?

  1. I am making progress and using my notebook to stay track. I have created a system for future ideas, using washi to make those pages so they can be transferred into my 2025 notebook instead of languishing on sticky notes.
Some sort of morning page practice is on the list.
